Butyl Rubber Under Aluminum Foil
Ordinary repair tape fails outdoors because the adhesive goes brittle in frost and soft in summer. Butyl rubber does neither: it stays flexible and tacky from -40°F to 248°F, so a roof seam or a gutter joint patched in October is still sealed in July. The aluminum foil backing reflects heat and blocks UV, which is what kills most tape on a sunny roof. Three widths.
